Pakistan Cricketers Slide in the latest ICC T20I rankings following a disappointing run in the ongoing three-match series against Bangladesh in Mirpur. Pakistan Players Tumble in ICC T20I Rankings After Bangladesh Series Setback
Pakistan’s T20I rankings have taken a major hit following a poor showing in the ongoing series against Bangladesh, with several players experiencing significant drops.
Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris saw the steepest decline, falling 20 places to 50th with 514 rating points. Young opener Saim Ayub also slipped three spots to 64th, while Hassan Nawaz, struggling to make an impact, dropped 22 positions, now ranked 68th.
Even seasoned players not part of the current squad were not spared. Star batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan each moved down a spot, landing at 13th and 14th respectively in the latest update.
There was a glimmer of hope in the form of Fakhar Zaman, whose consistent batting efforts helped him climb eight places to 79th, earning 426 rating points.
On the other hand, T20I captain Salman Ali Agha faced a sharp drop after a disappointing knock of just 9 runs off 23 balls in the second T20I. He slipped 18 spots and now sits at 93rd with 396 points.
With the series already lost 2-0, Pakistan Cricketers’ Slide rankings outlook underscores the urgent need for a turnaround in form and strategy.
Top Batters and Bowlers Unshaken as Pakistan Slips Further in Rankings
While Pakistan struggled in the latest ICC T20I rankings, international rivals continued to shine. Australia’s Travis Head retained his position as the No. 1 T20I batter, with India’s rising stars Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma closely following at second and third, respectively.
Pakistan’s troubles extended to the bowling rankings as well. Abbas Afridi dropped two spots to 22nd with 608 points, while Haris Rauf slipped four places to 24th. Star pacer Shaheen Afridi, currently out of the squad, also fell two spots to 36th.
However, there was a rare positive in the form of leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed, who climbed 12 positions to 49th, reaching 499 rating points, one of the few gains for Pakistan in this update. In contrast, vice-captain Shadab Khan continued his downward trend, losing four spots and landing at 65th.
New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy continues to lead the T20I bowling charts, followed by England’s Adil Rashid and India’s Varun Chakaravarthy, showing strong consistency across recent series.
